German Pancake a fun breakfast!

This is a recipe Chauncey made in school in what ever they call that class that use to be Home Ec. He had to write up all his recipes by hand. He really learned a lot in that class, and he loves to help in the kitchen. He told Sloan that she'd love his German Pancake, and she did!

German Pancake

2 tablespoons butter, cut into four pieces
3 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon salt

Preheat oven to 425.

Put the butter in a cast iron frying pan or an 9 inch pie pan and heat in the oven until melted.

Beat the eggs until lemon color. Add in the milk and salt and beat until foamy. Add in the flour and beat well. Pour into hot frying pan.

Bake for 15 minutes. Serve hot with butter and jam, or butter and syrup.

These always look so fun in the pan! I've heard it called roller coaster too!

We double this recipe and put it into a 9x13 pan and call them "Popeye Pancakes." It truly is an easy, yummy dish~

I love German pancakes, but only fix them about once a year. So easy to make, so I don't know why I don't do it more often.
