Apple Sauerkraut and Brats and my half marathon!

My friend Trista and I did a midnight half marathon Friday night. It was awesome! This is us before the race. They gave us glow necklaces and glow sticks to wear. I also brought some L.E.D. lights which were a big help! My daughter drove me down, it was 2 hours away. So, we didn't get home until 2:30 in the morning!
This is me running in after they gave us our medals! Oh, ya, I'm in it for the hardware! Whenever you run a half or full marathon you get a big ole medal!

This is my daughter's recipe, you can find her over at Tuffet! She made this for me once, so I made it for my family, and my husband just loves it. We really like it with the brats from the Seattle Pike Place Farmers Market, but any brats will work! My daughter said it's best to add a good grainy deli mustard to the sauerkraut mixture while it's cooking, otherwise it's hard to get enough! You could serve it with buns too.

Apple Sauerkraut and Brats

1 32 oz jar sauerkraut
4 apples
1 large onion
1/4 cup deli mustard
salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoons olive oil
8 Brats, grilled

Saute the apples and onion in the olive oil in a large frying pan. When the onions are translucent add the sauerkraut and heat well. Add the mustard, salt and pepper. Add more mustard if it needs it. Serve with the brats.
