Today's a Special Day! The New Temple Site Is Being Dedicated!

This morning we are going to the ground breaking for our new LDS Temple that will be built about 3 blocks from our house! It's going to be such a gorgeous building.

It will be built right across Main Street from our Tabernacle. We are going to the tabernacle to watch the ceremony on a large screen because the temple grounds will be really crowded.

I thought I'd share the song I Love To See The Temple because it's been going through my head all morning. I'll pop in later to share a recipe!

I Love To See The Temple

I love to see the temple.
I’m going there someday
To feel the Holy Spirit,
To listen and to pray.
For the temple is a house of God,
A place of love and beauty.
I’ll prepare myself while I am young;
This is my sacred duty.

I love to see the temple.
I’ll go inside someday.
I’ll cov’nant with my Father;
I’ll promise to obey.
For the temple is a holy place
Where we are sealed together.
As a child of God, I’ve learned this truth:
A fam’ly is forever.

Words and music: Janice Kapp Perry, b. 1938

The design of your new temple is beautiful. We are putting a 10 kilowat, 57 solar pannel array on the flat roof of our church this week. Going green....

It looks amazing. By us they're closing churches left and right. At least there are still some places opening houses of worship.

How exciting!! We have to drive over 3 1/2 hours to get to a temple. How nice to have one so close! :o)

That will be so nice! Lucky you!

Your so lucky. My closest is 3 hours. But when I move back to my old house (hopefully in a few months) it will only be about 45minutes - 1 hour depending on traffic.

Beautiful! What a blessing to have a temple so close you can walk! We live in San Diego, so ours is only a 15 minute drive, which compared to most of the world population is just as good as having it next door. I love hearing about new temples...the work is moving forth...
