I found this recipe over at
Abby Sweets. These bars are kind of like the classic no bake cookies, just a little different. I like that they have lots of oatmeal and just one half cup of sugar. These will be great to make in the summer, and they mix up really fast and taste super yummy!

No Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Oatmeal Bars

3/4 cup butter
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 cups quick cooking oats
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup peanut butter (smooth or chunky)

Melt butter in a large sauce pan over low heat. Stir in brown sugar and oats. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes, add the vanilla and stir. Press half of mixture in to the bottom of a buttered 8 x 8 dish.

In a microwave safe bowl, microwave the chocolate and peanut butter, stirring every 30 seconds until melted and blended. Pour the chocolate peanut butter mixture over the crust, reserving a couple of spoonfuls to drizzle over the top.

Sprinkle the remaining oat mixture over the chocolate and peanut butter, pressing gently to form a crust. Drizzle the remaining chocolate and peanut butter over the top of the bars.

Refrigerate for 3 hours before cutting and serving.

Those cookies were delicious! I'm already a follower and I think I'd pick the picture of my kids under our apple tree in Moses Lake. I love that picture!

I just became a follower and cannot wait to try out that recipe. As for the picture I would choose, I think it would have to be of our son and daughter, both sucking thumbs, and looking at each other, with smirks, out of the corner of their eyes :)

I just became a follower. The recipe looks delish. It looks like the perfect recipe to make for some friends that I have been making treats for.
I'd pick a family picture of the last time my whole family was together. I love them all so much. It is hard to see them move on but that is how it is supposed to be.

I just became a follower. Those bars look yummy! I can't wait to try them for the kids.

The picture I would chose for a canvus is the one from about 8 years ago. My daughter is dressed in an old fashioned dress, with a bonnet on her head. She is sitting in the doorway of an old rustic barn, on an nice summer day.

I just became a follower last week, and I adore your blog by the way! The picture I would choose is one of my two children at their grandmother's piano.

They love to pretend to by masterful musicians and the look in my mother-in-law's eyes when she is watching them do this is priceless.

This picture has been stuck in the confines of my computer drive and this would be the perfect salvation :-)
