My Grandkids and Navajo Taco's

This is my grandson Reese! He has always loved to play with dirt. He likes to throw it up in the air and watch it land. He's out in my dads shop playing in the sawdust while my dad is working on some cabinets.

Isn't this a cool picture? Reese is having so much! I don't think my dad is even noticing what Reese is doing. Reese even swept up the sawdust to make his own pile!

This is such a great picture! He's making me want to play in the sawdust!

This little cutie is my granddaughter Jillian Carol. We call her Jillybean! Did you notice her middle name? This is the high chair that we've used for all our kids. It's fun using it for our grandkids now!

This is a really easy dinner to make. I used my leftover homemade chili, but you can use canned chili too. My family really enjoyed this dinner.

Navajo Tacos
Navajo Fry Bread

4 cups flour
2 eggs
1 cup milk
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
Oil for frying

Heat the oil in a frying pan. I put about 2 inches in.

In a large bowl whisk the flour, baking powder and salt. Add the eggs and milk and mix with a wooden spoon just until it comes together. Roll out half the dough as thin as you can get it, I rolled it about 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch. Cut into large squares. Pull the dough a little after you pick up a piece but don't pull so hard it gets a hole. Put it in the hot oil and let it turn golden brown, then flip with tongs and cook until golden. Drain on paper towels.

Now the fun part!

Chili, heated
Chopped lettuce
Chopped tomatoes
Grated cheddar cheese
Sour Cream

Just put your Navajo Fry Bread on a plate and add your toppings.

Help, please! I was so excited to try the Navajo Taco recipe and it was a complete mess. My mixture was SO dry. I am pretty sure I followed the directions--any suggestions?
