Tuna Bake and a Contest

I made up this recipe and made it for dinner the other night. The kids loved it! I loved it to, because I had all the ingredients on hand and it made up really fast. They're getting the leftovers tonight with tomato soup. It's kind of like a tuna melt.

Tuna Bake

2 cans of tuna, drained
3/4 cup mayonnaise
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon pepper
3 cups flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon butter, cut into chunks
4 eggs, beaten
3/4 cup milk
1 1/2 cups grated cheddar cheese

Heat the oven to 425 degrees. Mix the tuna, mayonnaise, onion powder, garlic powder and pepper in a bowl. Set aside.

In a large bowl whisk the flour, baking powder and salt. Cut in the butter with a pastry blender. With a wooden spoon mix in the eggs and milk just until it comes together. Remove 6 biscuit size pieces of dough and form into round biscuit shapes. Set them aside.

Take the rest of the dough and pat it into a 9x13 inch ungreased pan. Cover with the tuna mixture and sprinkle with the cheese. Set the 6 biscuits ontop evenly spaced. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown.
