Squash Scones

Don't forget to sign up for my contest! You can find all the rules here!

Tatertots and Jello has a contest for New Moon fans!

I made this recipe up the other morning, and they turned out great, the kids loved them, then I accidentally spilled smokey paprika on them. It accidentally fell out of the cupboard and dusted them. I'm going to be making these again without the smokey paprika!

Squash Scones

3/4 cup mashed squash
4 tablespoons butter
1/3 cup sugar
2 cups flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/3 cup milk

Heat oven to 425 degrees.

Whisk the dry ingredients in a bowl. Cut in the butter until fine crumb. Mix in the mllk and squash. Knead on a floured surface 10 times. Pat into a circle and cut in wedges. Bake 12-15 minutes. Glaze them while they're still hot.

Glaze

1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
2 tablespoons butter
enough milk to make a thick glaze

Mix well with a hand mixer and spread on hot scones.
