My Marathon and Something To Keep You Smiling

This is me coming into the finish line of the Top Of Utah Marathon! Oh my gosh, I'm almost done! What a journey!

This is me, still smiling after running 26.2 miles! This is my last marathon, yay! I want to quit running ultra races so I can keep my knees for playing with my grandkids!

This is my training buddy Andrea. She was running so strong! She flew down the canyon and I lost her somewhere in the first six miles. She finished way ahead of me. She did such a great job! I had my son Chauncey and a running buddy meet me at mile 20. It was so great to have them to run with!

My calf muscles spasmed the last few miles of the race making it impossible to run. They did ease us a little and I was able to run the last mile after we hit Maine Street in Logan. It hurt so
bad to try to stretch them out!

Some friends of ours in Logan met us for a picnic after the race. She's the one that took all these great pictures! This is me, rested, with my sweet hubby (who also got up at 3:30am to take us to the buses to head up to the race) and my son Chauncey, who ran the last six miles!

Here's my finishers Medal. Yup, when you run a marathon you get a great running shirt and hardware! Love the hardware! I ran a half marathon this year and I really liked it, so that's what I want to do next year. You still get a shirt and hardware when you run a half marathon!

Here's a fun little story I thought I'd share today!

One day God was looking down at earth and saw all of the rascally behavior that was going on. So He sent an angel to earth for a time. When the angel returned, he told God, 'Yes, it's bad on Earth; 95% are misbehaving and only 5% are not.
God thought for a moment and said,
'Maybe I'd better send down a 2nd angel to get another opinion.'
So God called another angel and sent him to earth for a time.
When the angel returned, he said to God,
'Yes, it's true. The earth is in decline; 95% are misbehaving, but 5% are being good..'
God wasn't pleased.
So He decided to e-mail the 5% that were good because He wanted to encourage them and give them something to help them keep going.
Do you know what the e-mail said?

Okay......I was just wondering because I didn't get one either.

Ha! Ha! Ha!

Deb posted this the other day over at The Wise Old Owl. Don't worry, she said I could borrow it!
