Yesterday my friend Andrea and I went on a 15 mile run. We're training for a marathon in September. I don't like to run on paved roads, it's so much prettier on a trail or dirt road!
This is me! We left at 5:30am, so this was near the end, it was getting a little warm, and the stream felt good!
I love being out away from the noise!
This is Andrea, she's about 20 years younger than me!
Look at the mountains! We went up and over two mountains on our run! The downhill was fun, but the prize is always the view from the top!
I found this recipe in a old cookbook, and they looked easy. I like simple recipes that don't send me to the store!
Oatcakes
1 cup quick oats
2 tablespoons flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1/4 cup hot water
1/4 cup quick oats
Place 1/2 of the quick oats in blender container; cover and blend until oats are a fine powder. Repeat with another 1/2 cup quick oats. Combine blended oats, flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in melted butter and hot water. Sprinkle a board with 1/4 cup quick oats. Pat out dough to a 10 inch circle about 1/8 inch thick. Cut into 12 wedges. Place on un-greased baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Turn off oven and leave the door open. Leave the oatcakes in the oven until firm and crisp, 4 to 5 minutes. Serve with butter.
Here a contest I found at The Pink Peony. It's a really cute cake plate!
Here's another contest that looks really fun! Go to Thoughts From Alice.
