My Favorite Chocolate Chip Cookies
This is my families favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe. I found it in the cookbook "The Search For The Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookie." We like this cookie because it chewy on the inside, but not cakey, and crispy on the outside. It's different because of the milk and corn syrup. They keep well in the cookie jar, but that doesn't happen often at our house!
Chocolate Chip Cookies
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup shortening
1 tablespoon milk
3 tablespoons corn syrup
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 cups flour
2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips
Cream the butter, shortening, and sugars in a mixer. Add the eggs, vanilla, milk and corn syrup, and mix well. In another bowl measure the salt, soda and flour and whisk to combine. Add the flour mixture to the mixer and mix until just mixed. Add the chocolate chips.
Scoop out onto cookie sheets with a cookie scoop or two teaspoons. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 - 12 minutes. Remove to cookie racks to cool. Makes about 3 dozen.
