Cookie Dough Brownies

I made these to take to our youth meeting the other night. Everyone loved them, and they are super easy! If you don't want to make my brownie recipe, just use your favorite or use a mix.

Cookie Dough Brownies

2 cups sugar
3/4 cup shortening
1 teaspoon vanilla
12 tablespoons cocoa
4 eggs
1 1/2 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9x13 pan with Pam. In a bowl whisk the flour, cocoa and baking powder.

Beat the sugar and shortening in a mixer for 2 minutes. Add the eggs and the vanilla, beat 2 minutes. Mix in the flour mixture. Pour into prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 30 minutes. Cool completely.

Filling

1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup flour

Combine sugars and butter and beat for 3 minutes. Add vanilla and beat. Mix in flour alternately with the milk. Spread over top of cooled brownies.

Glaze

1 cup chocolate chips
1 tablespoon oil

Melt chips and oil in a bowl in the microwave. Start with 20 seconds, stir then do 10 seconds stirring and repeat until melted. Spread over filling. Let cool then cut into bars.
