A Trip To Gosners and Triple Layer Brownies

Don't forget to sign up for my giveaway for a lunch pack and a free package of YoPlus Yogurt! You can find all the details here.

A while back we went to Logan and we stopped at one of our favorite places! Gosner's Cheese. It's not much to look at on the outside. They do have really cute shutters!

Chauncey liked this big bell!

This is where the make the cheese, but they weren't making any the day we were there.

This is the cheese tasting table! Yum! We love our cheese!

Now I'm going to give you a recipe that doesn't involve any cheese. Isn't that mean of me? It's ok though, because it involves chocolate. You do like chocolate don't you? Ok, I thought so!

This is a combination of a couple of recipes, and they turned out pretty yummy! In fact they were all eaten up the day I made them!

Triple Layer Brownies
Oatmeal Layer

1 cup oatmeal
1/3 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon soda
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup melted butter

Brownie Layer

2 cups sugar
1/2 cup butter, melted
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 tablespoons cocoa
1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt

Frosting

1 cup sugar
1 square semi sweet chocolate
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon vanilla

For Oatmeal Layer

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9x13 inch pan with Pam.

Whisk the dry ingredients in a bowl. Stir in the butter and press into the bottom of pan. Bake for 10 minutes.

For Brownie Layer

Beat eggs until lemony, gradually add the sugar and continue beating. Add the flour gradually, stir in the melted butter. Mix thoroughly: add the cocoa, salt and vanilla. Spread over oatmeal layer. Bake for 15-20 minutes.

For Frosting

Combine all ingredients in a saucepan. Bring to a boil stirring constantly. Boil for 1 minute. Cool, add vanilla. Place over a bowl of ice water and beat with a hand mixer until thick. Spread over cooled bars.
