Our cookie jar was empty the other day, so I decided to try a new recipe. I found this recipe in the cookbook, The Search For The Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookie. I made a one little change (whole wheat flour) and they turned out yummy. Sloan will be in seventh heaven when she finds these!
Double Trouble Chocolate Chip Cookies
2 cups flour
1/4 cup whole wheat flour
3/4 cup cocoa
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 tablespoons corn syrup
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups chocolate chips
Heat oven to 350 degrees.
In a bowl whisk the dry ingredients.
Beat the sugar, shortening and butter for 3 minutes. Beat in the eggs and vanilla. Add the dry ingredients and mix well. Mix in the chocolate chips.
Scoop onto cookie sheets with a cookie scoop. Bake for 12 minutes.

You're killing me with those cookies... I am so hungry! I wish these were already made and piping hot...mmm mmm good!
Double and chocolate. Two words that should never be parted.
Those cookies look so great! I'll have to put it on my list since I have been needing a TON of cookies recipes lately. Our church is doing a 'cookie gathering' before every Sunday Night service for a half hour. That way we can just relax and fellowship before service. It's so fun- AND we get cookies!!!! Wahoo!
