It looks so pretty, I'm showing you the after first! It's hard to tell, but that's a burgundy candle on it.
It looks a lot better with black spray paint, huh? My sweet hubby made this candlestick in high school.
These are such a quick easy bar to make and they're no bake! Yup, you don't even have to heat up your house! The chocolate, peanut butter filling is so good, not to strong on the peanut butter. My sweet hubby said these are the best! They do need to chill in the oven for several hours, so be sure to make them a little ahead. They've got oatmeal in them, so they're good for you, right?
No~Bake Chocolate Oat Bars
1 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups quick oats
1 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup peanut butter
Spray a 8x8 pan with Pam.
In a medium saucepan melt the butter, add the sugar and vanilla and then the oatmeal and cook for 2 minutes. Pour half into prepared pan.
In a small bowl put the chocolate chips and the peanut butter. Microwave for 30 seconds. Stir and microwave again for 30 seconds. Stir until melted, pour over crust. Top with the rest of the oatmeal mixture and pat out to flatten. Refrigerate for 2 to 3 hours or overnight. Cut into bars.
