I saw something like this on someone's blog, but I didn't save the recipe so I came up with my own. This is just another way to sneak in something fun for breakfast! I love scones because they bake so much faster than a muffin.
Cookies And Cream Scones
2 cups flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons sugar
1/4 cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cup butter, room temperature
1 cup milk
1 cup crushed Oreo's
Glaze
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
3-4 tablespoons milk
In a bowl whisk the dry ingredients, cut in the butter with a pastry blender. Stir in the Oreos, mix in the milk and vanilla. Pat out into a circle on a floured surface. Cut into wedges. Place on cookie sheet and bake for 12 minutes. Spread glaze on hot scones.
Glaze
Mix all ingredients in a bowl with a whisk until the desired consistency. Spread on hot scones.
