Chocolate Easter Nests
If you haven't signed up for my Songberries Necklace Giveaway, you can find all the details here. It closes at midnight tonight.
These are really fun to make, and my kids just loved them. Chauncey was a great assistant, he put the Cadbury eggs in the nests! The kids liked the Cadbury eggs better than the little malted ones that I used yesterday. I like these cookies, they are so fast and easy to make, and I always have the ingredients on hand.
Chocolate Nests
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup milk
3 tablespoons cocoa
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups quick oatmeal
1 bag Cadbury milk chocolate eggs
In a medium pan heat the milk, sugar, butter and cocoa. Cook and stir until it boils, then cook and stir for 3 more minutes. Remove from heat and add the oatmeal and vanilla. Stir well. Drop onto a cookie sheet with a cookie scoop. Snuggle 2-3 Cadbury eggs in the middle, this is where the assistant is handy.

Ooooh, I'm going to make something like this later this week! I forgot to get the ingredients at the store! Well, I have the Cadbury eggs, hopefully they'll last until I get the other stuff ;)
